Mikaela KoS

Mikaela Kos is 17 years old and in her second year of training at Pro Arte Centre in North Vancouver. Having made the move from Nanaimo, Mikaela is grateful for all her early years of study including her time at Kirkwood Academy of Performing Arts and Canada’s National Ballet School, both of which provided her with opportunities to foster her artistry and technique. Last year Mikaela completed her RAD Advanced 2 ballet exam as well as her ISTD Intermediate and Advanced 1 ballet and modern exams. She will complete her examination studies by taking her ISTD Advanced 2 ballet and modern exams this coming spring. Competitively, Mikaela has had opportunities to travel across North America and Europe. This past September she was selected to compete at the Genee International Ballet Competition in Lisbon, Portugal and was awarded one of eight Darcy Bussell bursaries to attend. She has been a Top 12 Junior and Senior Classical competitor at YAGP and is looking  forward to preparing for YAGP San Francisco in March. Mikaela’s love of ballet has led to acceptances and attendances to summer and year-long programs at Canada’s National Ballet School, Arts Umbrella and San Francisco Ballet School. In her graduating year, Mikaela is applying and auditioning for professional trainee programs across the globe and can’t wait to see what the future holds. Mikaela loved every opportunity to train and perform as an apprentice with CatchingART in 2016-2017 as is looking forward to all of the opportunities to train and perform alongside inspirational dancers as a full member of CatchingART this season.
