New CatchingART Season 2018-19 as a Semi-Professional Company
Who is it for?
CatchingART is a Semi-Professional company designed for Classical & Contemporary Ballet dancers ages 18 – 28 who teach/study/work in the afternoon and evening.
Artists in this program are moving into the Professional Dance World and are cultivating an artist’s CV/Resume that will position them for placement in companies around the world.
What does the Program involve?
The Company meets 4 mornings a week, broken into two parts:
Company class: 4 days per week Monday – Thursday 9.45 – 11.15am
Rehearsals*: Monday – Thursday 11.30 – 1.00pm – as required
*Rehearsal schedule will vary according to upcoming performances. Please note that those who commit to company classes will be first considered for performances.
Note: Continued Training Classes are available with a $100 monthly scholarship to CatchingART Dancers. Company members may train in the afternoon in Pro Arte Centre’s Protégé or Accelerated Program classes (space dependent).
What are the Costs involved?
Class Fees & Paid Performances:
Dancers pay $12 per drop-in company class or, a card of 10 classes can be purchased at a discount of $10 per class.
Performance in every show is not guaranteed. First consideration will be given to those dancers who attend regular company classes.
The dancers used for specific performances will receive the CADA rate of $27 per hour of performance time (2-hour minimum call). Rehearsal time is not compensated.
Costumes are supplied. (Not pointe shoes or personals)
We specialise in boutique performances with live music. Performances include those with the Lions Gate Sinfonia, the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra, Pandoras Vox & Yarilo Music amongst other professional and community groups.
